21 Bundles Month 7 (November 2014) Review

My Month 7 21 Bundles box arrived this past weekend, here’s what was inside:

THE BOX:

SubBoxesNov14 020

This month I didn’t receive the “what’s inside” paper, but I did receive the “month” sticker, but it’s a newer design.  I don’t like this one as much, but fortunately I got a box of month stickers for my shower from my sister-in-law (which is what I was originally planning on using these for)!

THE COST:

21 Bundles costs $39.99 per month, $109.99 for 3 months ($36.66/month), or $209.99 for 6 months ($35/month).

21 Bundles catch is they deliver hand selected natural products tailored to your stage of pregnancy and the first year of your baby’s life.  9 months pregnancy + 12 months = 21 bundles!

Use coupon code “sustainable15″ for 15% off a new subscribers first bundle!  That’s right, my very own coupon code! 🙂  I hope you readers out there can use it!

THE GOODS:

SubBoxesNov14 021

Andalou Naturals Shampoo and Conditioner – 340 ml each (FULL SIZE) – $9.95 each = $19.90

I was a little disappointed when I opened this month’s box and saw another “shower” box… (similar to Month 2), but that being said, I do have to say the shampoo and conditioner I received in Month 2 is basically gone.  I just already bought some new stuff at the store to replace it with!  Thankfully they didn’t send the same brand (as I didn’t love the first product).  We’ll see how I like this one…

SubBoxesNov14 023

Ecotools Ecopouf Mini Sponge –  $1.29

I really like the Ecotools brand, and will throw this in the shower for future use!

Mambino Organics Moroccan Clay Face Scrub – 2.2 oz (FULL SIZE) – $14

I really like the body wash I received in this brand, so excited to see how the face scrub goes!

Acure Clarifying Body Wash – 8 fl oz (FULL SIZE) – $9.99

Again, will put this in the shower and see how I like it!

SubBoxesNov14 026

Acure Shampoo and Conditioner – 2 fl oz each – $2.50 each = $5 total

This is the same brand of shampoo and conditioner I received in my Month 2 box, which I didn’t really love.  Granted it was a different formula, but I’m not going to hold my breath that I will love this…

THE VERDICT:

I paid $40 for my 21 Bundles box and received approximately $50 worth of product.  I was a little disappointed in the theme of this month’s box.  Everything just seemed repetitive (even though there are different brands).  I’m sure I’ll use everything, but I’m really on the fence if I’ll keep this subscription right now…  It’s gotten to the point where I’d just rather go to the store and pick out brands myself, especially if I’m just going to get repeat stuff.

21 Bundles Month 5 (September 2014) Review

My Month 5 21 Bundles box FINALLY arrived this past weekend, here’s what was inside:

THE BOX:

SubBoxesOct14 001

As you may have noticed, my box shipment was delayed.  I contacted the company and was informed that they were out of one of the products, and instead of substituting the item, they decided to wait until the product came back in stock.  To compensate, they said that they upgraded one of my sample items to full size (not sure which one?)!  In addition, I received the following hand written note in my box!

SubBoxesOct14 003

I definitely felt like they appreciate my business!

**Side note though – I never did receive an email description of the box items, which is fine, I could figure it out.  But I do miss the little “Month X” sticker!!

THE GOODS:

Attitude Little Ones Laundry Detergent – 35.5 fl oz (FULL SIZE) – $16

This product is carcinogen free, fragrance-free, and hypoallergenic!  My regular laundry detergent is seventh generation, but I’m excited to see how well this works!  It’s supposed to work well for cloth diapers too, which we intend on using!

Dapple Naturally Clean Baby Laundry Stain Remover – 16.9 fl oz (FULL SIZE) – $4

Ah – I’m sure this product will get much use as well!  I like that it is free of all the nasties and appears to have pretty good ratings!  Also good for cloth diapers 🙂

SubBoxesOct14 006

e-cloth Washing Up Pad – 1 pad – $6.75

Ah – I can always use more scrub pads!  I always seem to go back to the “green scratchies” though, so excited to see how well this works!

LifeTree Dish Soap – 16 fl oz (FULL SIZE) – $6.50

Now this product I HAVE used before… and I LOVED it!  I just hadn’t gotten around to buying for 2 reasons, 1) hadn’t ran across it in the store and 2) I do have a lot of dish soaps under the sink already.  That being said, this one is going to the top of the pile! 🙂   PS – I think I’m probably one of the few people in the world that can get excited over dish soap – LOL!

SubBoxesOct14 007

Acure Peppermint Argan Oil Castile Soap – 16 oz (FULL SIZE) – $10

Alright – going to be honest, I have no idea what castile soap is.  This is probably around the time that a description sheet would be helpful!  I did find the following article that shows that this product has several different uses: 12 Great Ways to Use Castile Soap  but to be honest, still not sure what to use this for!  Maybe the Husband will know more.

Acure Dark Chocolate + Mint Argan Oil Lip Balm – 1 tube – $4

Ah – I will not be using this.  I am allergic to chocolate, but I’m sure others would love this!

Motherlove Pregnant Belly Salve – 3 ml – $0.50

I am not a fan of foil packets… it seems like there’s  never enough there to really see if you like a product or not.  Nevertheless, this WILL get used!  I’m on a “buttering the belly” twice a day regimen!

THE VERDICT:

I paid $40 for my 21 Bundles box and received approximately $48 worth of product!  I do know that one of the items was full size that wasn’t supposed to be, but no clue which one!  I’m guessing without this upgrade, the box would have been a little over $40.  I love the curation of this box, but LOVED last months value more! haha!  That being said, I loved this months theme!  I seem to get overwhelmed with all of the beauty products, and love that this month focused on other aspects of “greening” up your life!  I can’t wait to see what Month 6 brings!

21 Bundles Month 4 (August 2014) Review

My 4 month 21 Bundles box arrived in August, here’s what was inside:

My 4 month bundle was all about providing you with lotions and oils as your baby bump continues to grow!

THE GOODS:

Ellovi Body Butter – 3.5 0z (FULL SIZE) – $26

I actually got a sample size of this body butter through a swap site and I absolutely loved it!  I was stoked to see a full size version in my box!

Mambino Organics Oh Baby! Belly Butter – 2 ml? – $1?

I haven’t tried this yet, but I’ve been using lotions like crazy so know I will!

SubBoxesAug14 015

100% Pure Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream – 4 ml total – $3

I’m not a huge eye cream person – but I do like the 100% pure brand!

Mambino Organics Moisture Me Body Toning Oil – 2 fl oz – $11

This product can be used as a massage oil also!  I think I’m going to have to save until my Sister-in-Law comes to visit next time and get a massage!! 🙂

SubBoxesAug14 016

Earth Mama Angel Baby Organic Heartburn Tea – 16 Tea Bags – $6

I just haven’t been drinking tea the last few months (who wants tea in the  middle of the summer??!)  and fortunately I haven’t had heartburn problems yet.  I will hold on to this to see if it comes in handy in the next few months (let’s hope not!)

Acure Facial Toner – 2 fl oz (FULL SIZE) – $16

I have tried the Acure brand several times and am always impressed!  I don’t often use facial toner, but maybe I will after trying this!

THE VERDICT:

I paid $40 for my 21 Bundles box and received approximately $63 worth of product!  I had actually thought I calculated something wrong as my two previous boxes have been right around the $40 value… and I’m stoked that there was a little “extra” in this month’s box!  I hope they keep up this trend! 🙂

21 Bundles Month 3 (July 2014) Review

My 3 month 21 Bundles box arrived in the mail the other day!  I couldn’t wait to see what was inside!

THE BOX:

My 3 month bundle was all about cleaning up your bathroom sundries to make your showering experience “au natural.”

July boxes2 012

THE COST:

21 Bundles costs $39.99 per month, $109.99 for 3 months ($36.66/month), or $209.99 for 6 months ($35/month).

Nourish Organic Deodorant in Lavender Mint – 2.2 0z (FULL SIZE) – $9.99

Gah!  I don’t know what to do here.  I already found a natural deodorant that I LOVE (Primal Pit Paste Stick in Unscented) after trying (and failing) on many others!  I’m just afraid to try this and I hate it and I’ll never use it.  For that reason only, I will likely end up swapping this item; BUT I love that they included an item such as this in their box!

Deep Steep Foaming Hand Wash – 8 fl oz (FULL SIZE) – $6.95

We made the switch to “natural” hand washes awhile ago (after I read some horrifying things about triclosan!) and fortunately I’m not nearly as picky about my hand soap as I am about my deodorant!  I’ll add this to the stock of hand washes 🙂

July boxes2 016

JASON Power Smile Toothpaste – 6 oz (FULL SIZE) – $6.39

I’m kind of excited to give this a try – I’ve tried a few different Tom’s toothpastes, and had very mixed feelings about them (sometimes my mouth just didn’t feel as clean?)  I have seen the JASON brand around, but now I’ll get to try!

J.R. Liggett’s Shaving Foam – 7 oz (FULL SIZE) – $9.99

I have a couple of different natural shave gels/foams, but again, haven’t found “the one” yet – so excited to give this a try also!

July boxes2 018

Erba Organics Foot and Leg Refresher – 4 ml – $0.56

Huh – I think this is basically a souped up lotion!  I love lotion, so will definitely use (I won’t even complain about the foil packet 😉 )

Acure Body Lotion – 10 ml? – $0.50?

I have tried the Acure brand several times and always am impressed!  And again, it’s lotion, so awesome! 🙂

Big Dippers Wax Works Candle in Balance – 1.7 oz (12 hr burn) – $5.50

Oh my goodness, I LOVE the scent of this candle!  I think it’s honestly one of my favorite things in the box!  I am totally saving this for relaxing bath time!

THE VERDICT:

I paid $40 for my 21 Bundles box and received approximately $40 worth of product.  I am so on the fence on whether or not to keep this box.  I hate that it doesn’t have a higher value (especially when I won’t use everything); BUT I love the full size products and the new brands that they find!  I’m so torn.  I’m hoping some of you out there can help me out??  What is your favorite pregnancy subscription box??  Do you have a different one that you would recommend?  I have signed up for Ecocentric Mom-to-Be box (should bet getting my first one shortly – it’s an every other month box); but have also been looking at Bluum?  Hoping for some input!

21 Bundles Month 2 (June 2014) Review

I wrote this post when I received my first 21 Bundles box but waited to publish until the proverbial cat was out of the bag!

The Box:

My 2 month bundle was all about replacing items in your shower to use more natural products!

SRIC21BJun14 002

Let’s just say that holy cats they crammed this box full!!

The Goods:

SRIC21BJun14 003

Acure Lemongrass and Argan Stem Cell Shampoo and Conditioner – 8 fl oz each – $9.99 ea = $19.98

I literally was saying about a week before these arrived that I wanted to look at switching out my shampoo and conditioner to all natural brands.  Lucky for me, I’ve been majorly procrastinating lately – as these arrived right on time!  I’ve never tried the Acure brand shampoo and conditioner before, but I know I used one of their other products and liked it (I think it was lotion?)  Plus love that these are full size!

Earth Mama Angel Baby Organics Morning Wellness Tea – 16 tea bags – $5.97

I’ve definitely had mornings where peppermint tea works wonders for me.  It seems that I’m usually OK as long as I keep food in my stomach though – nevertheless, I’m sure these’ll get used at some point!

SRIC21BJun14 006

Earth Mama Angel Baby Happy Mama Spray – 1 fl oz – $3.24

Not going to lie – this has already saved me once, and I’m sure it will again.  It really works!!  I just sprayed a little on my wrist and inhaled a lot and the nausea went away!

One With Nature Peppermint Dead Seam Minerals Soap – 7 oz – $4.49

I don’t generally use bar soap (more of a body wash type of person), but will throw this in the soap pile and will get to it eventually I’m sure.

Mambino Organics Mandarin Creme Organic Body Wash – 2 fl oz – $4

There we go!  I really like the mandarin scent of this also!  Will totally use this!

SRIC21BJun14 007

Hydrating Floral Essence The Power of Rose – 0.5 ml? – ~$1

I think these last few items are “extras” for the box, so lower value, but nice to fill out the box!

Nine Naturals Shampoo and Conditioner – 7 ml each – $5

The nine naturals brand is really interesting to me – the are dedicated “to creating chemical-free, high-performing products for women and educating mothers about the potential risks of environmental toxins.”  I won’t be able to tell how much I like their product from these small samples, but am hoping future packages feature this brand!

The Verdict:

I paid $30 for my first 21 Bundles box (used a coupon code) and received approximately $44 worth of product.  Had I paid full price, I would have basically received my value back – so not the highest value; however, love that they help to find pregnancy safe items for me!  I am going to give this subscription at least another month to see how I feel at that time!

What is your favorite pregnancy subscription box??
