Our Fancy Box was waiting for us on the front porch yesterday!  I was really excited since it wasn’t supposed to arrive until Tuesday!

HDBandFancyMar14 018

ThatSh*tCray Tray – $45.00

I can’t believe the value of this tray!  That being said – this isn’t quite our style – maybe a bit too crass for me to have laying around the house…

HDBandFancyMar14 019

SMS Sticky Notes – $7

OMG – I LOVE these sticky notes!!! I have seen them in a couple box reviews and was so excited to see them in our box!!!

Bottle Light LED Cork – $15

This product is made to turn an empty bottle into an LED lamp.  Again, not really our style (maybe 10 years ago… LOL)  I can’t help but think my younger sister (who is in college) would love something like this!

HDBandFancyMar14 021

Mason Shaker – $29 and Shake: A New Perspective on Cocktails Book – $25

LOVE LOVE LOVE these two items!!!  Again, I had seen this mason shaker floating around and thought – “that’s RIGHT up my ally!!” and the Shake book is AMAZING!  It has cocktails (some non-alcoholic also!) by season that use fresh for that time of year ingredients!  LOVE LOVE LOVE (again! ha!)

We paid ~$47 for the March 2014 Fancy Box and received an estimated $121 worth of product!!  I wasn’t too excited over last month’s Fancy Box (here) as it was ALL male – but I’m over the moon for this months!!  This is what I was expecting when we signed up 🙂  HOORAY!!

March 2014 HeroDogBox Review

Daisy’s HeroDogBox arrived in the mail yesterday!!  This review is for the “small” dog box (0-20 lbs).  Even though our dog is ~28 lbs, we decided to go with the small version due to toy size (the next step up was medium 20-50 lbs).

Each box “sponsors” a dog that is in need of fostering or adoption – this month’s featured dog is Leah!  Proceeds from the sales of the boxes also go to support the dog!

 HDBandFancyMar14 002

HDBandFancyMar14 004

HeroDogBox costs:

1 Month – $29/month with free shipping
3 Months – $24/month with free shipping (17% discount)
6 Months – $19/month with free shipping (34% discount)

HDBandFancyMar14 005

Zigoo Veggout – small – $9.99

This toy is meant to hold baby carrots and provide a fun and interactive treat for your dog!

Vivamune Health Chews for Small Dogs – 30 chews (Full Size!)– $19.95

These chews are meant to promote joint + skin + gut – Daisy already tried one (as you can tell from the open bag) and LOVED them!  She can only get one of these per day (much to her chagrin)!

 HDBandFancyMar14 006HDBandFancyMar14 007

Dogs Love Kale – Apple Crisp – 7 oz (Full Size!) – $7.49

Daisy gave me that look above after giving her these – I think that means she wants more!  Ha!  I’d call that a win!

 HDBandFancyMar14 013

Vetericyn Wound and Skin Care – 2 oz sample – $9

I have seen this brand is some other reviews – it’s safe & non-toxic and doesn’t contain alcohol, steroids or antibiotics!  Let’s hope that we won’t ever have to use this, but that being said, I’m happy to have on hand just in case!

Snoutstick Nose Balm in Lavender – 1 tube (Full Size!) – $3.99

Daisy has NEVER had an issue with a dry nose – will probably end up finding someone else that can use this item!

Dog House Bakery Cookies – 2 cookies – $4.65

Daisy hasn’t tried these yet, but I can only imagine they will be a hit.  I’m a bit concerned that these will be a mess (one is already broke and a little crumbly) so might have to wait until I can give her these outside!

Daisy is in LOVE (as am I!) with HeroDogBox!  We paid $19 for this box (with a 6 month subscription) and received approximately $55 worth of goodies!  And I can TOTALLY get behind this company, from sponsoring and donating to a shelter dog to ensuring that their products healthy and/or organic and made in the USA (treats from overseas scare me due to all the recalls there have been…)  The fact that I could eat the treats is even more awesome!  Husband tried both of the treats from last months box just to try!  ha!

And let’s just say that Daisy can’t WAIT for the next HeroDogBox to come!

April 2014 Birchbox Man Review

Husband’s April 2014 Birchbox Man arrived today, which is crazy since I just got the shipping notification yesterday!  Here’s what was inside:

(Husband got box 15 out of 17 – how do you tell?  Log in to birchbox and scroll down to the box history, click the link and the last one or two digits ( are the box number – you can see all of the other boxes by changing this number!)

Men’s Subscription ($20/Month):  Grooming products and accessories ranging from socks to tech accessories

Overview of his box from Birchbox:

BBManApr14 004

Atelier Cologne – 1 ml – $1

I really like the scent of this cologne!  Husband commented that it seems like he always gets cologne now, but I don’t mind 🙂

Davines Naturaltech Energizing Shampoo – 100 ml – $10.20

I know of the Davines brand through my salon – it’s a sustainable beauty brand – which is AMAZING!  This shampoo also has a tea tree scent, which I know Husband will love.  I may have to give this one a try also 😉

BBManApr14 005

Hanz de Fuko Claymation – 0.25 oz – $2.10

I think Husband is going to enjoy giving this a try!  He seems to be more into hair products these days.

Herbivore Botanicals Beard Tonic in Cedar and Bergamot – 0.25 oz – $4

Well this product is just silly – Husband doesn’t have a beard!  Guess we will be swapping this!

BBManApr14 006

LSTN Bowery Earbuds – $50

WOW!  These earbuds are made from reclaimed wood!  AWESOME!!  I think this one of the best “big” items that Husband has gotten!

The overall value of the April 2014 Birchbox Man was over $67 for a $20 subscription!!!  I think this box is by far his favorite received so far.  And we figured out that he has to fill out his profile on the Birchbox site so he doesn’t get any more beard items 🙂

Spring 2014 FabFitFun VIP Review

My Spring 2014 FabFitFun VIP box arrived while we were on vacation – here’s what was inside:

FFFSp14 004

and the description card:

FFFSp14 002

$49.99 per season (Boxes ship every 3 months)

FFFSp14 005

Kai Perfume Oil – 1/8 oz – $48

Loving the scent of this oil!  I seem to have been receiving a lot of these lately – guess I will have to start mixing up my fragrances more!

Cover FX SPF 30 Protection Primer – 1 oz – $38

I am very religious about sunblock protection – so this will definitely get some use if we ever hit summer here in MN (it’s snowing again right now *sigh*)

FFFSp14 006

Merrithew Mini Stability Ball and DVD – $28.94

I’m actually really excited to give this ball and DVD a try – I need help after the extra vacation lbs!

Dermasuri Deep Exfoliating Mitt – $19.99

I am also happy to have received this item!  time to sluff away that dang winter dry skin!

FFFSp14 007

Cult Gaia Turband – $48

I thought about trying this item – and then I just laughed at  myself.  I mean honestly?  Sooo not my style, but happy there are those out there that can pull of a look like this…

FFFSp14 008

Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo Invisible Spray – 5 oz – $25

I am just not a dry shampoo type of girl – I will end up swapping this item.

Level Naturals Shower Bombs – 4 bombs – $7.99

I actually made some shower bombs with a past homegrown collective box – curious to see how these compare!

The Better Chip Spinach and Kale with Sea Salt – $1.99

Who can say no to chips?  Especially if they claim to be healthy!  Hope these are good 🙂

Overall – my Spring 2014 FabFitFun box value is estimated at over $217! While there was a couple items that weren’t up my ally – I’m loving the rest!  This box is always fun to received and I LOVE the full size products!!

March 2014 Eco Emi Review

My March 2014 Eco Emi box also showed up in the mail today, here’s what was inside:

 SRICandEEMar14 012

SRICandEEMar14 013

Eco Emi costs $15/month.

SRICandEEMar14 014

Red Popcorn by Kitts Kernel – 0.5 cup? – $1

We don’t usually make popcorn from scratch – but we do own a stir crazy popcorn maker – will have to try this sometime.

Almond Bar by Kuli Kuli – 1 bar – $2.89

The story behind this company is actually quite amazing – I recommend giving it a read on the link above 🙂

Shea Butter by Karitex – 200 g – $10

So I am not quite sure what to do with a block of shea butter… have to figure out how to best use this!

SRICandEEMar14 015

LA Fresh Waterproof Makeup Remover Wipes – 1 wipe – $0.42

LA Fresh Nail Polish Remover Pads – 1 pad – $0.42

I have used the LA Fresh brand before from hotel supplied products – but didn’t realize they were eco friendly!

Dawn Lip Gloss by Purely You Minerals – 1 tube (FULL SIZE) – $8

The “dawn” color is supposed to be good for a “natural” look – so this MAY get used.. however, I just seem to constantly get lip glosses/balms and can’t use them all!

2N1 Lip Therapy and Cuticle Treatment by the Lano Company – 1 tube (FULL SIZE) – $5

Again – so many lip balms!  Although, this product DOES have an alternative use!

Overall, I calculate my Eco Emi March 2014 Box to be worth ~$27.  I DO love my Eco Emi box, but I think it tends to get overshadowed by my Saffron Rouge Inner Circle which appears to arrive around the same time every month!

March 2014 Saffron Rouge Inner Circle Review

My March 2014 Saffron Rouge Inner Circle arrived today!!!  This is definitely on the top of my favorite boxes!

SRICandEEMar14 001

The box also comes with a pamphlet detailing everything included!

SRICandEEMar14 004

SRICandEEMar14 005

What is Saffron Rouge’s Inner Circle?  According to their website, “Receive a beautiful package of deluxe samples from various leading and upcoming organic beauty brands from around the world.  These self indulgent little packages include premium samples and an informative letter describing each of your treats.  The best part is that you also receive a discount code to save on your favorite full sized versions from the package.”

Saffron Rouge’s Inner Circle costs $24.99/month.

SRICandEEMar14 006

Living Nature Thickening Mascara in blackened brown – 8 mL (FULL SIZE!) – $30

I am normally not a brown person – but this brown is a nice dark shade!  Will definitely have to give it a shot!  and the value of this item is amazing!  Some boxes received the Jet Black color.

Kahina Giving Eye Serum – 5 ml – $26

This product is quite expensive – so I do wish that it came in a package that was easier to dispense a small amount at a time.  I’m afraid I’m going to open it and spill everywhere!

Suki Transformative Cleansing Clay – 4 ml – $6.50

This product can apparently be used as a purifying mask treatment, spot treat blemishes overnight or as a daily cleanser – should be interesting to give it a try!

SRICandEEMar14 008

ilike Grape Stem Cell Solutions Cleansing Milk – 10 ml? – $2.72

Totally guessing on product size – but this product is supposed to cut right through make-up!

Primavera Cleansing Juniper Cypress Body Oil – 1 oz – $10.88

This product is supposed to assist with promoting circulation and reducing the appearance of cellulite.  Huh – shall see how it works!  Some boxes this month got a different product – the Primavera Energizing Ginger Lime Body Oil.

SRICandEEMar14 010

The Body Deli Solar Day Cream – 10 ml – $7 $16 (thanks for the update Anastasia!)

I am SUPER excited to give this product a try – can never get enough sun protection in the summer (red hair and light colored skin + sun = not good!)

Dr. Hauschka Lip Balm – 0.14 oz (FULL SIZE!)– $15.90

I do love Dr. Hauschka products – excited to give this a try!

Again, I’m over the moon with my Saffron Rouge Inner Circle!  I wish I would have found this service when they first started, as I feel almost cheated from every box I didn’t get!!! I will just have to hang onto this subscription for a long time :)

I paid $24.99 for this month’s box and received approximately $99 $108 worth of product!  Auh-ma-zing value!

Saffron Rouge does have a rewards program – if you click “Customer Service” on the bottom, then “Rewards Program”, and then “Check your Balance” you can see your current rewards.  Each Saffron Rouge Inner Circle Box is worth 75 points, and each review you write is worth 25 points.  It takes 2,750 points for a $50 gift card, so each box nets you $1.36 in points and each review gives you $0.45 in points.  Definitely not the best rewards system, but it DOES exist!

March 2014 Birchbox Review

My March 2014 Birchbox arrived yesterday – here’s what was inside:

 BBMar14 002

BBMar14 003

Women’s Subscription ($10/Month):  Samples of skincare, makeup, and non-beauty extras.

My March 2014 products (I got Box #74):

BBMar14 004

Agave Healing Oil Treatment – 0.1 oz – $1.20

Huh – kind of excited to try this – supposed to help with frizzy hair.

Gilchrist & Soames London Collection Body Lotion – 1.5 fl oz – $3

Not a huge fan of this scent – almost earthy…  the lotion itself is OK.  This item may go to Husband.

BBMar14 005

Stila Lip Glaze in Shortcake – FULL SIZE – $8

I’m not a huge fan of lip gloss, plus I have SO many!  While I’m sure this product is just fine – I will probably end up swapping it…

Supergoop! City Sunscreen Serum – 10 ml – $8.80

BBMar14 008

Mighty Leaf Tea Pouches – 3 pouches – $2

These flavors sound amazing!  Pretty excited for this “lifestyle extra!”

A Treat from Ghiradelli – Cherry Tango – 1 square – $0.45

Husband literally licked his fingers after eating this – apparently it was good.

I estimate the value of my March 2014 Birchbox at approximately $23…  I paid $10 for the box, so the value is pretty good!  I do wish Birchbox had more natural/organic items, but overall this box seems to always make me happy 🙂

What did you get in your March 2014 Birchbox?
